The Unseen

While I was stationed in Iraq, I was a medic that was placed at an air base. We took over the clinic/hospital when we arrived in May of 2003. I was with the 3acr and had many terrible experiences there. I wasn’t the only one either. One night my buddy Ian was sleeping (we had 4 man rooms) and at the time, there was only one other guy in there with him, David. David had on headphones while trying to go to sleep. Well my buddy was just lying there when he felt as if David threw something at him. So, Ian said he picked up a sock or something and threw it back at David. Well, David got mad and wanted to know why Ian did that. Ian responded "To get you back for throwing something at me". David called him an idiot and put his headphones back on. Ian then had something thrown at him again and again and then returned the favor back to David. David got mad and wanted to know why he was doing that. Surprised, Ian asked if he (David) really threw something at him. David just looked at him funny, then went back to lie down. Ian then turned the light on and after he lay down, he said it was like someone threw his legs up in the air... but no one was around him. He told David what happened and they ended up pulling their cots together and sleeping with the lights on.
